Getdota map 6.83 (Dota v6.83):
- As we all know, diffusal blade right now is seen as an item only gotten on agility carries that either have illusions or need to purge ghost/omni/warlock golems. It was relatively expensive not in cost, but the fact that it has always taken up a precious orb slot. However, the time has finally come that diffusal slowly becomes a real item again!
- Diffusal is no longer a Unique attack modifier, aka an orb.
- Diffusal itself is 3150 gold in easy components that offers 20 agility,6 int, 25 mana burn and most importantly, a purge. Some heroes in the game have always had issues catching and chasing for kills and there are a large amount of agility carries that run into this problem. Diffusal is now a viable option on plenty of these heroes as a means for killing while also providing decent stats. It may not be yasha levels of efficiency, but it still offers a means to hold a target in place.
- Heroes that can now benefit from the diffusal change:
- Bloodseeker- no longer has to solely rely on rupture to land blood rite, nor does he have to chase as much during teamfights. Additionally the bonus damage from bloodrage works well, and you can purge bloodrage if necessary. A large problem bloodseeker runs into by the mid/lategame is ghost scepters, unless you opted for the dagon build. Diffusal adds the ability to remove such annoyances, but he still needs other items beforehand since diffusal adds zero survivability.
- Clinkz- It was already a common situational pickup since clinkz is a hero that runs into ghost scepters quite often. You can choose to stack up lifesteal,skadi,diffusal, and searing arrows if you want to shoot rainbows. What it does offer though is a way for clinkz to keep his target in place while he unloads his dps. Also offers 6 int which is nice, could possibly be an alternative to orchid when combined with soul ring or medallion.
- Broodmother- Really just another way to purge dust, but in most cases sentries are being used against brood. She doesn’t have much trouble catching heroes in her webs. In fact, the change is more of a nerf to brood since hunger is purgable.
- Bounty hunter- again just another way to get rid of dust. I’ve seen it as a lategame item for purging buffs and it helps chase but bounty doesn’t run into too many issues with that.
- Void-manta diffusal void has been used in the past as a super situational build. If he runs into the mass Euls or ghost scepter problems he can grab diffusal after MoM now.
- Juggernaut- Almost everyone finds themselves picking up diffusal on jugg for the mass ghost scepters that ruin his ult. Now it has the added benefit of working with lifesteal or deso which helps his lategame.
- Lone Druid- a rather situational build, but slowing down someone with purge allows druid and the bear a couple of seconds for free hits. With the new battlecry change it could be quite deadly. However, in most cases you can get diffusal to purge your bear, but it isn’t like you were stacking orbs on him anyways.
- Medusa-eh, might as well give it a shot.
- PA- still reliant on bashes for the best dps, but don’t be surprised if you see this item picked up a lot more. It’s even possible for a manta diffusal PA similar to the manta diffusal jugg build that you rarely see. Illusions do get crit and the blur miss chance, so might as well try it.
- Razor- offers him a way to keep his link while also providing dps. Will probably rarely be seen but it is a nice thought.
- Riki- can now work with MoM/MoM+basher
- Sniper- purge someone that is coming towards you, not much else to be honest.
- Troll warlord- This can be a possible game changer. Troll is someone who really benefits from the feedback passive with his insane attackspeed, and has trouble maintaining his dps on a target since they can move away. Diffusal troll with vlads was always clunky but it still worked somewhat. Now you can still grab the helm for stacking/satanic but the diffusal adds a way for troll to gank or stick to his target in melee form.
- Ursa-Diffusal can be quite useful for those typical ghost scepter games, but basher works incredibly well on the bear as is. However, the max attackspeed buff mixed with how spammable overpower is can make use of the feedback passive and ursa runs into issues with people kiting him. Also skadi makes so much more sense on the hero.
- Weaver-the purge is useful for dust, and maintaining against a single target. The geminate change also works well with feedback among other orbs, but an extra 45 damage is miniscule for the cost.
- Windrunner- a fun build where you get helm and diffusal, as it allows you to have an easy(using purge) and devastating focus fire. Not always the best, but it is quite entertaining.
